Festival a/d Werf is een jaarlijks terugkerend tiendaags festival in mei dat opduikt op verschillende
locaties in Utrecht. Het presenteert eigen producties die de grenzen van het theater opzoeken,
temidden van een internationaal programma van voorstellingen, installaties en muziek.
Het is een festival voor jonge, beginnende kunstenaars en kunstenaars die hun sporen
al verdiend hebben. Zij tonen hun werk aan toeschouwers die hun eigen perspectief
durven te bevragen. Met performances, beeldend werk, (gratis) muziekoptredens,
nagesprekken, workshops, debat, eten & drinken.
Van 19 t/m 28 mei 2011 vond de 26e editie van Festival a/d Werf plaats. Met nieuwe eigen en
coproducties van onder andere Maurice Bogaert, João Evangelista, Lawrence Malstaf,
Laurent Liefooghe en Sanja Mitrovic. Het gastprogramma was goedgevuld met (inter)nationale
groepen en kunstenaars. Zoals Mokhallad Rasem / Monty (BE), She She Pop (DU),
Berlin (BE), Gisèle Vienne (FR), Constanza Macras / Dorkypark (DU) en Dave St-Pierre (CA).
In 2012 vindt het festival plaats van 17 t/m 26 mei.
Festival a/d Werf is an annual festival that pops up at a wide range of locations, steeping the city of
Utrecht in culture for ten days each May. Festival a/d Werf presents original productions created by
artists who explore the boundaries of theatre, and places them within the context of an international
programme. It is a festival for artists with a unique view on the world and for audiences unafraid
of questioning their own perspectives. With performances, visual art, (free) music events,
evaluations, workshops, debate, food & drink, and parties.
From 19 – 28 May 2011 the 26th edition of Festival a/d Werf took place. With new original
productions and co-productions from artists including Maurice Bogaert, João Evangelista,
Lawrence Malstaf, Laurent Liefooghe and Sanja Mitrovic. This year’s guest programme
